The Great Change

If you find yourself in this time and this place, a woman, you are witnessing a change in our world; a most momentous, historical change. The Great Change. We are transitioning from a patriarchal, to a matriarchal society. It is the natural progression that is taking place for our survival. It is the moving into a softer, more compassionate being. This transition can take lifetimes, but it is happening and it is happening now and you are a part of it. If you are here, you are meant to be here. You are meant to be a part of it.
If you are suffering under any form of male oppression, this may bring little comfort to your immediate circumstance and for that I am sorry, but I am thankful for every small act of kindness, every compassionate action, every brave act you still offer. Every one of those acts is bringing forth the very energy of The Great Change.
We have been living in a man's world for thousands of years now. Western and Eastern civilizations, just the same. Indigenous knowledge tells of the value of women in their society though. Elevated as the life givers, but equal to their male counterparts serving different needs in the community. Perhaps that's one reason why the Indigenous were and continue to be persecuted in this life. It is threatening to those in power positions somehow to revere women. It is threatening to know women have power, and qualities many men do not.

Perhaps this is why we continue to be shut out of the Catholic Church. Perhaps the sacred feminine is dangerous to the patriarchy. Whether or not it is, the energies of the matriarchy are well on their way and making waves here on Earth already.
The ripples are seen in the push and pull of misogyny, oppression, and war. Whether it be physical battles in the world or the war on women's rights through government policy like we've recently seen in the U.S and Iran, women are standing up and fighting back against this male dominant energy. Conscious men stand with and for them too and there are many of them. Plenty of women have joined movements and protests but one doesn't need to go join these ranks to be part of The Change. To be part of it, all you have to do do, is spread compassion, share joy and be kind. Change happens with the smallest of acts and all of these acts put together is a monumental force of good.
It may seem that the world is absolutely crazy right now. With the war in Ukraine, to the rise of right wing extremism and everything in between, it seems sometimes that we are going backwards. These things left unchecked could drag the transition out, but the universal energies are hard at work ushering in this new age regardless of how some may be kicking and screaming there way out of it. It's the way we are evolving.

When everyone else gives up, it is the woman who sings the songs of strength. She is the backbone of the people. So, to our women we say sing your songs of strength; pray for your special powers; keep our people strong. Be respectful, gentle and modest." ~Native American Prayer. I think it will be all women, not just those Native Americans who will lead the healing in all of our human tribes.
The patriarchal system is known for competition, instead of cooperation, aggression instead of assertion and arrogance over confidence. An egotistical twisting of inherently good masculine energy like leadership and action. It is more heavy handed than it's matriarchal counterpart, where compassion and cooperation are seen as strengths. An example of this twisting can be seen in the worlds religions where beautiful antiquated scriptures of other times have been reduced to tools for those that would seek to oppress women and other marginalized groups. Metaphorical meanings twisted in to literal excuses for barbary.
I once had the opportunity to go see The Dalai Lama speak. He spoke of the need for more women in politics because we have an innate quality for compassion and that the world needs more of it. This idea always stuck with me. Compassion in policy is the way of the future.
Here in Canada, our parliamentary caucus has a large showing of women in high power positions. Something I'm proud of our current government for. It's an indication that those in power are feeling and are a part of The Great Change. They are conscious, or beginning to be and that is comforting in a world where so many still aren't.
The incoming energies are not meant to be egotistical in any way. That is, not an aggressive feminism, but a balanced yin and yang. Aggression will likely happen in the battles for equality though. As much as these are not meant to be violent energies, the opposing forces will fight to cling to the old system, and the new will cling to hope of a brighter more equanimous society. Contention is to be expected. Take heart knowing though, that the universe always provides balance sooner or later. We are approximately half of the population and we have already countless awakened men at our backs ready to support The Change.
Remember that these energies are working for all of us no matter how small a role we play, so play your role however you can, in whatever capacity you are able. All of these acts, big or small further the Great Change, bringing us closer to a more enlightened, cooperative, and compassionate way of living.
